The Omnibox is AutoScribe's intelligent command center that transforms unstructured thoughts into professional radiology reports, eliminating the need for complex punctuation and navigation.
Introduction
Section titled “Introduction”The Omnibox is AutoScribe’s revolutionary AI-powered interface that fundamentally transforms how radiologists create reports. It removes the traditional need to dictate into structured reports with high levels of punctuation and navigation, dramatically minimizing the words needed to be stated and the time taken in navigation.
The AI agent does all of the heavy lifting in terms of content structuring and organizing. Simply speak your thoughts — whether completely unstructured streams of consciousness or semi-structured observations — and the Omnibox transforms them into full professional radiological language that fits neatly and intuitively into each section of your report template. This works seamlessly for any template, whether it contains highly specific template sections or very general sections, making it flexible for all readers and reading styles.
The Omnibox functions like a direct message correspondence with an AI agent, providing a comprehensive audit trail of the produced content from both the reader and the report content merges produced by the AI. This transparency ensures complete visibility into how your thoughts are transformed into professional report sections.

The Omnibox requires no additional configuration and is included and built-in natively to every single report and study. It’s ready to use immediately, working seamlessly with your existing workflow.
Omni Mode
Section titled “Omni Mode”Omni Mode is the primary mode of the Omnibox, designed to merge your dictated findings directly into the appropriate sections of your report.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”When Omni Mode is enabled, the AI agent merges your dictated findings by the reader into the appropriate sections of your report template. The AI understands user intent and instructions, allowing you to provide high-level guidance about what should be merged into the report. For example, you can ask the AI to summarize previously discussed information and merge it into a specific section, and it will intelligently process and integrate that content.
Omni Mode leverages the full context of your report and chat history to produce the most relevant merges. The AI agent maintains complete content awareness and enhanced semantic understanding, ensuring that your findings are placed in the correct sections with appropriate professional language and formatting.
Omni Mode is the default mode when the Omnibox is enabled. Simply start dictating your findings, observations, or thoughts, and the AI will automatically structure and merge them into the appropriate sections of your report template.
Ask Mode
Section titled “Ask Mode”Ask Mode allows you to directly query the AI agent to get recommendations and answers to medical questions while maintaining full and immediate access to your report and chat history.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”Ask Mode provides a direct interface to query the AI agent for clinical recommendations, follow-up suggestions, and answers to medical questions. The AI maintains complete content awareness and enhanced semantic understanding by leveraging the full context of your report and chat history, ensuring that recommendations and answers are highly relevant and contextually appropriate.
Whether you need guidance on follow-up recommendations, clarification on findings, or clinical decision support, Ask Mode provides immediate access to AI-powered insights that are fully informed by your current report content and previous interactions.
Switch to Ask Mode to query the AI agent directly. Ask questions about findings, request follow-up recommendations, or seek clarification on any aspect of your report. The AI will provide answers and recommendations based on the complete context of your report and conversation history.
Enable & Disable
Section titled “Enable & Disable”You can toggle between Omni Mode and Ask Mode, or disable the Omnibox entirely, depending on your workflow preferences.
Switching Between Modes
Section titled “Switching Between Modes”To toggle between Omni Mode and Ask Mode:
- Click the label: Click the mode label at the bottom of the Omnibox to switch between modes
- Voice command: Say “Enable Omni Mode” or “Enable Ask Mode”
Disabling the Omnibox
Section titled “Disabling the Omnibox”AutoScribe fully supports traditional dictation without the Omnibox with no degradation in performance. If you prefer to use old-school dictation methods, you can disable the Omnibox entirely:
- Sidebar toggle: Use the toggle in the sidebar to turn off the Omnibox for traditional reads
- Voice command: Say “Enable Omnibox” or “Disable Omnibox”
When the Omnibox is disabled, you can dictate directly into report sections using traditional structured dictation methods, maintaining full control over punctuation, navigation, and formatting.
