Your costs should **scale as your business grows** — you should not be priced out of great software at the beginning, and you should not have your margins cannibalized in early stages when every dollar matters. We are here to **grow with you** and to help enable that growth in any way we can. We also offer a **free trial** to get started. Software that locks you into contracts before you have tried it often does so because the vendor is not confident they can retain you on product quality and support alone. We prefer you experience the platform first. There are **no long-term commitments**, **no contracts**, **no minimum spend**, and **no degradation of service based on your size**. We listen to all customer feedback; when we agree a requested feature would benefit the platform, **we build it**. You can **cancel and offboard anytime**. If you find software that serves you better and helps you deliver better care, **please use it**. We exist to optimize healthcare professionals’ ability to deliver care — whether through Avara or another platform. We will **never punish you for leaving**. We are that confident in our products. ## Users The Clinical Platform uses a **per-provider subscription**: **$99/month per provider** All **other users are free** — nurses, technologists, care coordinators, RCM staff, admins, front desk, and everyone else on your team who is not billed as a provider. ### Optional provider add-ons | Add-on | Price | Why | | --------------------------- | --------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Insurance billing (RCM)** | **+$2/month per provider** | Covers the **American Medical Association licensing fee** to use **CPT codes** when your practice uses insurance billing workflows. See [Inviting Users — Can Prescribe](/clinical-platform/inviting-users/#can-prescribe/index.md). | You only pay add-ons for providers who need those capabilities. ## PACS **$4.50 per study** Any imaging study Avara **processes, ingests, and stores** is billed at this rate. **High-volume discounts** are available — contact us to discuss pricing at scale. ### Why we charge per study up front HIPAA guidance requires retained imaging to be kept for **seven years**. Stored DICOM carries **significant ongoing storage cost**. We charge **up front for the lifetime of the study** so your costs do **not balloon asymmetrically over time** — you know the archive cost when the study lands, not as a surprise years later. [Rooms & PACS](/clinical-platform/rooms-pacs/index.md) covers setup and integration. ## Dictation **$0.99 per report** Each dictated report includes **speech-to-text** and **all AI-enabled features** on the platform — impressions, structured reporting assistance, and the full dictation workflow you use to produce completed documentation. For visit-based ambient documentation, [AutoChart](/clinical-platform/autochart/index.md) is billed separately at **$0.25 per session**. Standalone [AutoScribe](/autoscribe/overview/index.md) customers follow the same dictation pricing model; see the AutoScribe overview for PACS bundling options. ## Viewer The **Avara Viewer is included free**, forever, for **all users** on the Clinical Platform. Routine diagnostic reading, patient-facing study access in the [patient portal](/clinical-platform/patient-portal/index.md), and staff workflows use the built-in viewer at **no additional viewer license fee**. ## Workstations **Most organizations do not need workstations.** The built-in viewer covers routine reading for the majority of sites. For subspecialty workflows that require a third-party viewer (TeraRecon, 3mensio, OsiriX, and similar), pricing has two parts: ### Gateway sizing (monthly, one per clinic) Gateway sizing is the **EC2 instance type** for your clinic’s workstation node — **not** a per-seat fee. Pick the tier based on how many workstation users you expect. Does **not** apply to reading in Avara’s built-in viewer. Full setup details: [Workstations](/clinical-platform/workstations/index.md). ## Patient Payments Collecting **patient payments** (booking, balances, HSA/FSA) uses [Stripe Connect](/clinical-platform/stripe-connect/index.md) at **3.15% + $0.30 per transaction**. Connect-only pricing is documented on [Connect Overview](/connect/overview/index.md). ## When You’re Charged Platform fees (subscriptions, usage-based charges, one-time items such as on-prem appliance hardware, and related line items) are **invoiced on the morning of the 3rd of each month** for **the previous calendar month**.
